BRIEF
Design a feature length article that responds to the futuristic themes in the french film, Playtime, by Jacques Tati.
WHAT I DID
The paradox of viewing Playtime in this day in age is that the futuristic predictions of the past now feel vintage and dated. My goal for this project was to explore this paradox of retro futurism.
RESULT
This design won first in my class for its unconventional take on the film. The bright, techno color scheme contradicted the film's muted tones, and the photo choices focused on moments of connection in a film that critiqued urban isolation.

...Iterations along the way, and paths I didn't take. Since this project spanned over 6 months, I challenged myself not to let one concept overstay its welcome. My mentor encouraged me to try every idea, and let curious experimentation guide the creative direction.
